Dancehall artiste Beenie Man fired some lyrical shots aimed at Billboard Magazine, in his second verse of the pre-recorded Reggae Cypher, which was done for the BET Hip Hop Awards aired on Tuesday night.

The cypher which also featured Bounty Killer, Koffee, Skip Marley, Shenseea and ZJ Liquid, appeared to be shot at Hope Gardens in Kingston.

Beenie who opened and closed the performance appeared to be still seething at the actions of Billboard, who omitted himself and Bounty Killer from the cover of a story about the VERZUZ effect, an action that was overwhelmingly condemned by fans of the show in Jamaica and overseas.

He sang:

Mi did kinda nervous, Wha day mi duh di Verzus
Mi a wonder if American neva saw dem curse us
Caw di Billboard Magazine come out wha day, dem neva reveal us
Thank God dat I’m a genius a musical Nostradamus
So big up Josey Wale and Supercat and Nicodemus
A no gun or football
A music mek mi famous
So right yah now mi hotta dan di coffee inna di thermos
Mi moving forward an dem neva can reverse us

Billboard faced harsh criticisms in early August for snubbing Beenie and Bounty on the digital magazine cover.  An angry Bounty Killer had also hurled abuses at the magazine for attempting to downplay the performance made by himself and Beenie which has been declared unequivocally the Greatest VERZUZ clash ever.

A month later, Billboard again earned the wrath of Jamaicans after releasing poll numbers which showed that Beeenie and Bounty were the top fan favorite among all Verzuz battles so far, but sought to negate the accomplishments by stating that many of the voters  who gave the nod to the two, were Jamaicans.
