Drawing for Peter Tosh’s hit song Burial, from the Reggae icon’s 1976 album Legalize It, Bounty Killer insisted that he would not be intimidated by persons who are still berating him for not attending Merciless’ funeral and for the “drug addict” comments he made about the late deejay.

In the face of ongoing criticisms, Bounty Killer made it clear that he would respond in kind or worse, to any disses thrown at him.  He used Tosh’s Burial, a song used by sound system selectors to decimate their rivals, to express his feelings on the matter.

“Di p-ssy dem weh dem period a leak through mouth tek dis.  I care zero mi owe or a beg nobody ntn 😂🤣🥲,” he noted mockingly, in an Instagram clip, an apparent jab at Dancehall selector Ricky Trooper.

Burial was written by the sharp-tongue Peter Tosh who was known not to mince words in his songs aimed at his detractors or in his interviews.

In Bounty’s fired-up interview with Grand Cayman’s Hot 104.1FM, over the weekend, he had made several controversial statements relating to Merciless’ death.

He had explained that he thought that the funeral organizers’ decision to place images of himself Beenie Man and Ninjaman on Merciless’ funeral backdrop, was disrespectful and that not even Merciless himself would endorse that kind of conduct.

“I never decided to go because the people who organize Merciless funeral is playing around.  You cannot have Merciless funeral to celebrate his life and celebrate his victory over Bounty Killer, Beenie Man and Ninja Man.   How must I walk into a funeral an look at a backdrop with me and Ninjaman and Beeieman as three dead man on a dead man pictrure, and then you expect mi fi come show mi sympathy and talk nice and all these things…,” he declared.

“Suh hold on, how many people Merciless clash with?  How yuh neva si all the people him clash with on the backdrop?  Why pick out Bounty, Ninjaman and Beenie?   Him clash with whole heap a lesser artiste than we, and den you want us to come show our condolence and our sympathy and then yuh making fun of us; making a backdrop of our clash an then putting us in a dead man form at a  dead man funeral and you think that’s joke?”

“A who yuh a play wid agen?  Bounty Killa dis!  Oonu lucky mi neva come dung deh an kick dung di backdrop! Bright an facety,” he exclaimed in a loud voice.

There were some fans who described the Warlord’s critics as hypocritical, claiming that when Merciless was alive, they did not care about him or support him, but were using his funeral as cannon fodder to attack Bounty Killer.

“A wen de man pass dem care bout him, all hypocrites! Some man a try mek everything outta dis. Full time dem leggo @1unogeneral shirt! Dem fe gweh now mhon, tired a dem!!!” one man said, while warrbeef added: “Merciless died alone, he obviously needed help, none of those people at the funeral were there to help him but they want to hype about who attended the funeral! 😔”.

The responses to Bounty’s post were varied, with the majority of his fans agreeing with him, even as others condemned him, while other urged him to lay the matter to rest.

Bounty also went toe-to-toe with some of his followers who made comments which were not in his favour.

When lloydcampbell400 wrote that: “U go low on the comment on Mercedes you go low, the Coppershot artist jeeringly replied: “lloydcampbell400, U go low on spelling😀😃😂🤣”.

Another follower who quoted from Haile Selassie, while noting that Bounty ought to “mute out all the small talks that’s gonna make you seem less humane” and “show the world that you are or can be a man of moral standards” and “be a beacon”, got a terse reply from the 50 year old.

“philwatkis,I can’t be more than what I am won’t try either thank you 🙏🏾,” Bounty replied.

Still wading through the comments, Bounty, in response to sassilousness_1’s query as to “A who trouble mi General now???” replied: “Nuh gyal or bwoy cyaah trouble mi a bad mi bad simple👌🏿”.

When careymylife quoted from Tosh: “Let the dead bury the dead🔥🔥🔥🔥dwl”, Bounty replied: “Simple👌🏿

Bounty was delighted when one follower stated that his detractors were using every opportunity to call his name.

“It is a pity u no hear say a Killa make Ian no badda come a Jamaica…killa status and legacy dem hate the man for jah jah 🤦🏾‍♂️, he noted.

“At the top is just Us so the topic just US😅😂🤣😁,” Bounty replied.
