New Track From Buju Banton And Popcaan Coming Soon!

Anticipation is riding high for a mega collab on the horizon between dancehall superstar Popcaan and the Grammy–winning legend Buju Banton.

Popcaan posted a pic of the two in the studio together evidently making music and sharing a friendly exchange with the caption, “Stay tuned for di fire tune” and tagging @bujuofficial on his Instagram page.

Fans flocked to share elated comments and excitement about the news with not one bad remark in the dancehall deejay’s thread. Artists like Spice, Macka Diamond and Dre Island also took the time to comment and show support to the two making music together.

Popcaan has had successful collaborations with a number of local and foreign artists. In 2008 he joined Vybz Kartel’s Gaza Music Empire and in 2010 released his breakthrough hit “Clarks” with Kartel. On the international scene he’s been featured in music with Drake, Pusha T and Wale to name a few.

But what are we really witnessing here, is this collab with Popcaan featuring Buju or Buju featuring Popcaan? Who called whom?

In the summer of 2019, the two Jamaican artists worked collectively, headlining at the St. Kitts Music Festival. Even though they didn’t share the same stage together, performing on separate days, the project may have sparked the beginning of the greatness we’re about to experience.

We know Buju is gearing-up to launch more new music. He recently released a hot new track titled ‘Trust’ sounding fresh while telling his truth. Also touching on rumors that circulated about him after his release from jail.  It’s only natural for him to feature hot new talents in the industry right now, one sure candidate is Popcaan, let’s see who he collabs with next.
