Marley Brothers’ Ghetto Youths Foundation Launches PIC LOVE Collection
The sons of legendary foundation reggae artiste Bob Marley are trying to do their part to stand against bullying. Stephen, Damian, and Julian Marley through their Ghetto Youths Foundation recently launched the Limited Edition PIC LOVE Jewellery Collection. The proceeds from the initiative will be donated to anti-bullying programs for young people.
PIC LOVE was inspired by the iconic heart-shaped guitar pic used onstage by Stephen Marley. Some of the photos in the the PIC LOVE Collection feature this special guitar pic, which has been hand-dipped in gold to create a timeless piece of meaningful jewellery.
The first stop on the anti-bullying drive is a national campaign for kindness which features an unprecedented partnership with Miami-Dade County Public Schools to bring the spirit of acceptance, which will hopefully bring love into classrooms across Miami.
The foundation’s website stated: “Together, we can stop bullying once and for all.” The collection contains a small pic which will cost US $100 and a large one at US $125. Also featured will be a necklace and two styles of Bracelets at US $50.
The Ghetto Youths Foundation is a non-profit organization that the brothers created to provide a helping hand and to support the fundamental needs of underprivileged people anywhere, according to the website.
“Let the hungry be fed, the naked clothed, the sick nourished, the aged protected, and the infants cared for.”
The mission of the foundation is: “The Ghetto Youths Foundation is dedicated to creating social change and equity, with a focus on providing opportunity to young people, seniors, and families from compromised communities and challenging situations.”
The foundation was born out of the efforts of the Marley family to continue Bob’s legacy. For over twenty years they have tried to help the disenfranchised.“For more than two decades, the Family of the legendary Bob Marley — artist, prophet, world-renown messenger of peace and equality — have very quietly and humbly created life-changing, innovative, and impactful outreach initiatives across the globe. Today, the Ghetto Youths Foundation proudly carries on this legacy of giving through charitable works and programs.”
They have helped with subsidized meals for seniors in Jamaica as well as scholarships for students in Ethiopia.
