Vybz Kartel Drops ‘ADIADKING’ From Immortal Riddim
Vybz Kartel has released his new track “ADIADKING” after teasing the lyics on Instagram a few days ago. Listen to it below.
The track, which is included on Usain Bolt’s Immortal Riddim, starts off into a brief intro that mimics an announcer at a track meet, declaring that Kartel is immortal now since his break out run as a new artist in 2005.
“Give it you raw like chicken inna kentucky . ’05 till now mi wul da lead ya. Ketch mi if you can you name nuh bolt u nhave da speed ya”, sings Vybz Kartel in the opening verse of the 3.21 minute track.
The world boss then likens himself to a great “encyclopedia” of knowledge and a more rounded dancehall ariste, while contenders for his dancehall crown (supposedly Masicka, Aidonia and others) are mere “pamphlets” stuck within their own individual boxes and unable to innovate.
Kartel, who is currently incarcerated on a murder charge, sends a big up to his lawyer, Ms Valerie Neita-Robertson for her work on his appeal. Fans are anxiously awaiting the verdict in that case since the court heard arguments 18 months ago. Kartel and three other men were found guilty in 2014 for the 2011 murder of another man.
The chorus delivers a devastating blow to other contenders for the dancehall throne with Kartel describing just how far ahead of the pack he is, “Matta weh dem seh, matta weh dem try dem fraid a mi. Adi a di king! any other king a burger king. Shat pass everybody pon di journey. Dem so f*ckin LATE it look EARLY. Till mi lap dem again yuh BOMBOCLAAAT!!!”
The only worthy kings are himself and Usain Bolt, he continues, “If a nuh me or bolt nuh body nuh worthy.”
“ADIADKING”, now streaming on Youtube, has already racked up 160,000 views in the 9 hours since its release. The track is distributed by Hapilos.
Although behind bars at the Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre in Kingston, Kartel continues to release music and dominate the dancehall world.
