Dancehall DJ Flippa Mafia Gets His High School Diploma In Prison

Flippa Mafia has completed his high school diploma while in prison in New Jersey.

An Instagram account that apparently belongs to the entertainer posted a photo of the diploma which was awarded by the State of New Jersey on April 16th 2019.

The Jamaican dancehall DJ, whose real name is Andrew Davis, was sentenced to 25 years in prison in 2016 for his role in a cocaine distribution network between California and New Jersey. Davis was also found guilty of second-degree money laundering, and second-degree conspiracy. He will not be eliligble for parole until 2028, after serving at least 12 years.

While the photo was uncaptioned, the account’s bio read “Thank God I’m still alive” suggesting the artist still has a positive outlook on life.

Fans congratulated Flippa on this achievement.

“Dat mi a talk bout; use the time to beat times,” one fan posted. “Up fam keep yuh head up uzeet and congrats pon di achievement”, another added.

Though there were some detractors.  “Flossing and never had the basic education”, another commenter posted.  The dancehall entertainer was well known as the “Flossing King” who hurled money into audiences during his performances.

Flippa’s songs included Unfinished House and Hear Mi Hear.  He appeared in movie Shottas in 2002 which was starred by Ky-Mani Marley and Spragga Benz.
