Dancehall Diva D’Angel Links With Rapper Jakal In New Video For “Me Alone”
Jamaican dancehall diva D’Angel and rapper Jakal promised a fire collaboration and they did not disappoint on their recently released song “Me Alone” which you can stream now. Watch it below.
“ Me Alone” is one of the 17 tracks on D’Angel’s new album, “ Deportee,” which was released on October 24 at the Reggae Mill Bar in Kingston. The bass-heavy track was produced by Why Rush and is dripping with energy as the dancehall legend oozes self-confidence from start to finish. The video itself (directed by Mark Antony Chen) is as vibrant as the song, featuring fancy cars and the two artistes dancing seductively. The lyrical content and substance of this song is timeless and covers a wide range of different emotional angles. However, love in its many different modes is the all-pervading red thread on “Me Alone”.
Jakal is outdoing himself in 2019, delivering creative songs and videos, which are clearly helping him, turn his life around. Collecting the past from the album title, Jakal certainly lives up to it. After being deported from America (where he was a rapper) due to drug abuse and other criminal behavior the ex-convict-turned-recording artist is ready to change for the better. In a new interview with The Fix, the upcoming rapper discussed his sexy collaboration, 2nd chances and being misunderstood as a deportee. However, he is set on his mind to rise and inspire other people looking up to him.
D’Angel, the ‘Lady of dancehall’ confessed she was excited to collaborate with Jakal having had first-hand experience of how difficult and judgmental the industry can be to upcoming stars.
“I strongly believe in second chances and some people do change for the better. He is a testament to the fact that there is hope after the dark days,” she said.
According to the dancehall queen, working with Jakal was seamless that people have been linking them romantically. However, she explained that they have great musical chemistry together that don’t go beyond the studio.
