Veteran dancehall deejay Ninjaman was released from a hospital on Wednesday  where he was admitted after complaining about pains.   He is reportedly now being treated at an undisclosed location.

Long time friend of Ninjaman, Black Queen told the Jamaica Observer that he was released from the University Hospital of the West Indies and that his surgery has been postponed.

“The doctors postponed the surgery, because right now they are trying to get him some heart medication. We are unsure of the surgery date right now,” she told the Observer.

No details were provided on the type of surgery required by Ninjaman, whose real name is Desmond Ballentine.

Queen did not speak with doctors directly but relayed that he was in high spirits. “When I saw him, he was upbeat as always. You know how Ninjaman is; he just wanted his fans to know that he loves them and know seh him alright,” she said.

The 53-year-old singer was given a life sentence for the murder of Ricardo Johnson in 2017. He will serve 25 years before being eligible for parole. During his career he was widely known for his outlandish persona and pro-gun lyrics.
