Konshens Drops New Single ‘What A Vibe’: Watch

Konshens has returned to the Dancehall scene after the turmoil last week with a public breakup and makeup with his wife, Latoya.  His latest single is What A Vibe, produced by Anju Blaxx and distributed by Submachine / UIM Records.  Watch it below.

The track was apparently supposed to drop earlier as Konshens lamented near the end of the turmoil last week. “Had songs to release this week but clearly i have to wait til NEXT YEAR now🤔😔 @ANJUBLAX @BigLaugh_JA hol on pan dem fi now please lol”, he said in a tweet.

But here we have the new track and it is reminiscent of his popular hits, sure to dominate airwaves over the holiday party season.

The video for What A Vibe, uploaded to YouTube yesterday, strays from the Dancehall narrative to feature a short film starring Konshens and Keticia ‘TC’ Chatman, professional dancer and backup dancer for Spice.

Starting with TC lost and frightened in a forest, the video quickly progresses into a dark and suspenseful thriller, punctuated by scene cuts to classic dancehall choreography. The subplot is creatively interwoven throughout the four-minute long video to portray TC being kidnapped, drugged and brainwashed into a Gomorrah-like cult of dancers.

It ends with the cliffhanger of Konshens being captured.

Konshens’ videos are known for being out-of-the-box, like those for Bruk Off Yuh Back and Gyal Sidung – both racking up over 5 millions views on YouTube. What A Vibe joins the artiste’s collection of movie-like productions and adds more versatility to the representation of Dancehall.

This is the first new single from Konshens in approximately three months, and his fourth song released this year. The artiste had noticeably taken a hiatus from the studio to spend time with wife of two years, Latoya Wright, and their son Liam. Over the past year, the couple has experienced two major breakups.. Last week, Konshens uploaded two pictures of his wife with a lengthy caption to his Instagram account apologizing to his wife and expressing gratitude and appreciation for her support through and after his brother’s suicide three years ago.

What A Vibe has over 13,000 views since its uploaded to YouTube yesterday, indicating that Konshens’ fans were anticipating and are excited for his return. Watch it below.
