Dancehall Producer ‘Miller 9’ Charged With Murder In Florida
A dancehall music producer, Miller 9 has been arrested and charged with murder in Florida. The 41-year-old, whose real name is Omar Miller is best known for producing music for Vybz Kartel. He has also worked with Popcaan and Jah Vinci.
According to information from the Broward County Sheriff’s Department, Miller 9 will be answering to charges of murder, criminal conspiracy and assault with a deadly weapon. He is currently on an “Out of State hold” in Florida and will likely be transferred back to California to answer the charges.
The charges stem from an home-invasion robbery and shooting that left one resident dead and another injured in Irvine, California on October 26th. The slain man was identified as 20 year-old Raymond Alcala by police.
The other victim’s injuries were not life-threatening.
Police released surveillance footage and photos from inside the home which showed two men with firearms entering the residence. Police believe they intended to commit a robbery when the shooting occurred. Watch the video below.

Miller is also a former member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, was charged in 2011 along with three other cops for the killing of 18-year-old Andre Thomas in St Andrew. The four were freed when they claimed they killed Thomas in self defense.
