While his African fans were pleased with his inclusion of Nigerian artists Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Fireboy and Burna Boy, other fans were confused as to why recording artist, Davido was left off the list.
In recent years, Davido has been one of the leading Afrobeats artists, regularly incorporating Reggae, Dancehall and Hip-Hop elements into his music. He had also collaborated with several dancehall acts like Demarco and Popcaan, and just recently, Kranium released a remix of Davido’s single “Risky” which originally featured Popcaan. Although the song isn’t posted of Davido’s official Youtube page, the artist tweeted the link to the remix saying “DAMB BRO WENT OFF!!!”.
After his initial post, Kranium addressed his fans comments and questions, with a heavily-explicit tweet.
Listen im one artist society can’t control I do as I please once im not selling my soul … I stay in my lane and mind my f-cking business !! I said what the f-ck I said .. how the f-ck y’all going to try tell me who my favorite artist of 2019 should be y’all bugging the f-ck out

Much of the reaction from fans concerning Karnuim’s list has less to do with the Dancehall artist and more with the artistic comparisons between Wizkid and Davido. As two of the leading artists in the Afrobeats genre, fans have insinuated that the pair are not friends, but both artists have insisted that there is no beef and the competition in merely friendly.
Kranuim, on the other hand, was one of the few Dancehall artists to perform at Afrochella in Ghana on December 28. The artist also recently released his first album, ‘Midnight Sparks” which features Ty Dolla Sign, Aj Tracey, PJ, Mahalia, Alkaline and Burna Boy.
