Dancehall Artiste Rumblood Cleared Of Felony Gun Charges In L.A.
Ranaldo Evans better known as Rumblood has been cleared of the felony gun charges that he was facing. He was supposed to appear in court to face a trial for possession of illegal firearms last Friday December 27th.
He was arrested by police on November 29 after the vehicle he was in was pulled over and illegal firearms were discovered. He admitted at the time that he had a night of drunken abandon and partying in the Los Angeles before getting into the vehicle.
The Dancehall artiste and producer now gets to breathe a sigh of relief. He told Star Magazine that he was extremely grateful to have the charges dropped.
He is scheduled to be back in his native home Jamaica soon.
Rumblood said he was confident that his reputation was not hurt by the incident as he strives to live as a law abiding citizen.
“I was never worried about my reputation because I am a law-abiding human being; me nuh waan see jail ever,” he said.
Rumblood was previously released on US$35,000 bail.
He detailed how intimidated he felt throughout the entire ordeal. “I never been treated that way in my life before; it was like a bully thing. But I think what surprised me throughout the ordeal is the amount of people ah say me ah guh get deported or wish bad on me.”
He thanked some Dancehall artistes for standing by him when others tried to throw negativity his way.
“I must extend my gratitude to people like Bugle, Bounty Killer, and Agent Sasco of the dancehall fraternity who reached out to me and also motivated me to have faith.”
According to Rumblood’s lawyer, Jaaye Person-Lynn, the cops had no grounds to search the entertainer’s car in the first place.
“The district attorney is the one who decides if a case or report that the police put forward should be filed. From my observation, I could guess it was on the grounds that there was no proof that my client had any knowledge of the firearms in the vehicle and also because it was an illegal search,” Person-Lynn said.
Rumblood can now file a civil lawsuit if he so desires.
