Sikka Rymes Has High Hopes As Vybz Kartel Appeal Verdict Nears
It’s been 16 anxious months for Dancehall fans and dedicated Gaza loyalists especially, as everyone anticipates a verdict in Vybz Kartel’s appeal case.
Amidst arguments of contaminated evidence and corrupt jurors, fans and family are feeling especially optimistic. In an Interview with the Jamaica Star right hand man and recording artiste Sikka Rymes had this to say –
“I am feeling strong, up, and positive about everything, and I am just waiting on that special day to come, enuh,”
The Gaza To Mi Bone deejay went on to express his respect for Teacha and expectations for his return home –
“I look at him [Vybz Kartel] as more than a mentor. He is a father, uncle, brother, and everything in one. We may not have any celebrations planned at the moment, but I can tell you it’s going to be a day all of us come together as one and just bare laughter.”
Adidja Palmer was arrested in 2011 for possession of marijuana and subsequently slapped with murder charges.
In 2014 Vybz was convicted in the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams along with Shawn Campbell, Kahira Jones, and Andre St John. All four were sentenced to mandatory life in prison.
Palmer was promised 35 years before a possibility of parole and his other co convicts 25 years. He then acquired the representation of Tom Tavares Finson and Valerie Neita-Robertson to argue an appeal for his freedom.
That appeal case concluded in July of 2018 and last December the Court of Appeals indicated that a ruling shall be given in “short order” – in other words any day now.
In a letter addressed to Kartel’s lead attorney, the court had stated that it was in an “advanced state” of preparing a final judgement.
Vybz Kartel will be 44 tomorrow and after 8 birthdays behind bars Gaza fans would gladly welcome him home.
