Drake Quotes Popcaan Lyrics In Reaction To Rihanna Being Single

Rihanna only recently became single and it seems she already has suitors which should come as no surprise, considering the Barbadian star has always been considered one of the hottest celebs in the music kingdom. She broke up with her billionaire boyfriend, Hassan Jameel last Friday (January 17) according to reports. They had been together for three years.

Drake has always been honest and up front about his love and admiration for Rihanna, and it seems he is once again throwing his hat in the ring. Not too long after the break up was confirmed Drake posted “Jah you keep mi firm and strong” on his Instagram page. The quote is from Popcaan’s track “Firm and Strong.”

The song has a few lines in it that allude to overcoming struggles in your life like this line: “Problem with the girl I love/Whole heap a them a say dem know Popcaan/Dem never know the place I was.”

His intentions may be serious as usmagazine.com reported that “the “Work” collaborators were seen together in the audience at the fifth annual Yams Day show at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.” Drake and Rihanna were rumoured to be briefly together in 2017.

They have also been rumoured to be dating since late last year. Even though many fans want to see the couple reconnect none of the information about Drake or Rihanna’s interest has been confirmed. They have always been close friends. It’s entirely plausible that he was simply sending a message to the rap world that he intends to dominate the airwaves again.
