Alkaline Teams Up With Black Shadow For New Track ‘Gladdest Night’
Alkaline has been stamping his authority in dancehall over the past few weeks with a slew of new singles. On Thursday, the Vendetta hitmaker blessed his fans with a new banger titled ‘Gladdest Night’ featuring Black Shadow.
The love anthem was produced by Troyton Rami Music and is currently available in all major streaming including Apple Music, Spotify, and Sound Cloud. In the track, the Vendetta Deejay wastes no time confessing that he is a ladies’ man. “Coulda guard likkle more me a crook and me will thief yuh gal,” he sings for the opening lines of the chorus. This is the fourth time Alkaline is linking up with Black shadow after collaborating in hits like “Black Heart,” “Fulla Vibes,” and “Eva High”.
Fans have loved the track that features a groovy dancehall base and Alkaline’s usual innovative flows and witty lyrics. In just 24 hours the song has garnered over 142000 views since it’s uploads to YouTube.
Born as Earlan Bartley in Kingston, Jamaica, Alkaline has been in the dancehall foray since 2013. He first came into the lime after scoring Jamaican hits such as “Church Folks,” and “More Than a Friend”. However he attracted even more attention for his bleached skin, blonde dreadlocks and what he claimed were eyeball tattoos. (It was later revealed he used contact lenses to give his eyes their unusual look.) The controversy created a lot of publicity stunt and backlash but even more music following. In March 2016, The Vendetta deejay released his debut album, New Level Unlocked, which became the first dancehall album to reach the top of American reggae charts in five years. Since then, alkaline has not looked back.
While his lyrics are often controversial for their bold sexual content, the frequency at which he releases his songs has kept him relevant in dancehall. In 2019 alone, the vendetta deejay had 15 songs premiered on his Vevo channel. That equals to at least one song per month. This year he has already blessed his fans with two songs and we can’t wait to hear what else he has up his sleeves.
