Likkle Vybz And Likkle Addi To Release Album In February
The Gaza legacy continues through the emergence of Likkle Vybz and Likkle Addi in Dancehall with the expected release of their new EP titled Skinny Jeans. The album is expected to be released on February 28, 2020. The prodigies and children of Dancehall king, Vybz Kartel, have already gained over one million views on YouTube since their return to music late last year.

Jaheim and Akheel Palmer, also known as Likkle Vybz and Likkle Addi respectively, have been a part of the Dancehall industry since 2014 creating and releasing music under the group name, PG 13. Although missing from the music scene for the past five years, the duo has made a strong comeback under a new moniker – UTG/Uptown Gaza – with the release of their new track, Skinny Jeans in September 2019. The music video for the hot new single, produced by Vybz Kartel Muzik and distributed by Johnny Wonder, has racked up over 1.5 million views since its upload to YouTube in October 2019.
Following the release of the ‘Skinny Jeans’ single which pays homepage to their father’s hit singles from 2010, ‘Clarks’, ‘Clarks Again’ and ‘Wear Weh You Have’, Dancehall fans have lauded the young entertainers in YouTube comments as good successors to their father’s throne with one user saying, “They’re going to be bigger than their father the great legend Vybz Kartel…this is what their father wanted for them. He paved the way…respect Vybz Kartel he must be proud”. Dancehall entertainer in the Gaza Camp, Sikka Rymes, also foresees promising careers for both young men and has expressed to Jamaican newspaper, The Star, that Likkle Vybz and Likkle Addi have been groomed for musical greatness from birth and by veterans in the industry.
Despite his incarceration in 2014, Vybz Kartel has continued to support his sons’ musical careers through collaborations that birthed songs like ‘Magneato’, in November 2019, and ‘Never Walk Alone’, which was featured on his latest album, To Tanesha – dedicated to his common-law wife and mother of his sons, Tanesha ‘Shorty’ Johnson. Ready for 2020, Likkle Vybz and Likkle Addi have given Dancehall fans the green light to anticipate more hits this year with the upcoming E.P.
