Quada Sends A Message That He Is Innocent In New Single ‘Innocent Youth’: Listen
Dancehall artiste Quada is fighting back against the recent murder and arson charges laid against him with the release of a new single titled ‘Innocent Youth’. The song set to the Jamaican deejay’s familiar type of beat gets straight to the point in the opening. Listen to it below.
In his baritone, he says: “Alright everything ago alright link mi lawyer tell her fi gwann fight, them charge mi a ready waa fi mash up my life.” He goes on to state that he never beat anyone and feels that he is being persecuted because he is rising in Dancehall.
“Mi future bright like car light, yeah innocent youth. No man mi neva shot everyday life a teach mi like school. He goes on to say that he is learning a tough lesson about the company that he keeps. The Unruly camp artiste believes that some people in his wider circle started the conspiracy that he was into crime and this is what he thinks led to the charges.
The song is a true tell-all as Quada also speaks about being denied bail and having to stay incarcerated before he was let out. He also gives praises to Popcaan for sticking by his side and ensuring that he eventually was released from prison.
“Memba say unruly naa drop my boss naa, style me naa left mi out, all wen dem was mi fi live a jail house, that coulda never work out.”
He also sings about the ordeal helping him to better understand what others are going through with the justice system in Jamaica. He sends a stern warning to the youth of the island to stay out of trouble and away from jail.
“Ghetto you jail house ano play thing betta keep this ina yuh ears like ears ring yeah, mi mi see man a gwaan like hima don a jailhouse and pon road no one no rate him.”
Quada bares his soul on this one and it definitely can be used as a cautionary tale to the youth of Jamaica, that jail time is just not worth it.
Quada, whose real name is Shaquelle Clarke, returns to court on March 5.
