Machel Montano Doubles Up On Valentines Day With All White Wedding Ceremony
Social media is exploding everywhere with wedding photos and congratulatory messages for soca master Machel Montano. The 45 year old, Trinidadian soca singer wedded his long-time girlfriend Renee Butcher at the parliament building, Red House on February 14th Valentines Day.
We don’t know what strings were pulled to accomplish this unique undertaking but Montano was able to host his all-white wedding with a long list of family and friends at the venue despite their 8 max guest policy.
He is also the first to acquire the space for such an occasion in 20 years. It was especially significant for the entertainer to exchange vows at this location, because it was also where his parents were married.
Today he proudly mapped The Red House on his mesmerising wedding photos on Instagram, also capturing the beaux-arts style architecture characteristics in the backdrop. He captioned one photo, “Happy Valentine’s Day from Mr. and Mrs. Montano ❤” and another “Today we have fulfilled the civil requirements in the eyes of the State and legally we are Mr. & Mrs. Machel Montano – now we move on to our Wedding…”
The wedding he is referencing is actually the finale of Machel Mondays themed ‘The Wedding’, which will be a grand wedding reception he plans on hosting at the Hasely Crawford Stadium this Monday February 17th. The wedding tribute will feature some top named artistes such as Teddy Riley, Blackstreet, Shalamar, Afro B, Mr. Eazi, Skinny Fabulous, and Destra among others plus a few Jamaican headliners, Konshens and Tarrus Riley.
Machel has done some chart topping collaborations with Tarrus Riley and Konshens alike. His single Memory with Riley has had over 2 million views on YouTube and his feature on the track Front of the Line with Konshens has accumulated over 6 million views.
