Sikka Rymes Uplifts Ghetto Youths In ‘What If’ Video: Watch
Dancehall’s self-proclaimed ‘VP’ of the Gaza Empire, Sikka Rymes, has dropped a new track defending the ambition of the ‘ghetto yutes’. The new single, What If, honors the struggle and determination of youth living in inner-city communities and encourages them to persevere regardless of the systematic barriers to their success.
What If comes as the fourth song from Sikka Rymes since the beginning of 2020. Echoing similar themes as earlier songs from the Gaza King, Vybz Kartel, Sikka uses this single to uplift youth from and living in inner-city communities across Jamaica.
The three-minute-long track, produced by Gladbox Muzik, has received praise from Dancehall and Gaza fans online with many fans commenting that the artiste is steadily improving his lyrical and vocal talent with each new release. What If has racked up over 56,000 views since its upload to YouTube a week ago.
Javian “Sikka Rymes” Chambers, who is the cousin of imprisoned Dancehall artiste and fellow Gaza Empire member, Shawn Storm, is still regarded by many fans as the protégé to Vybz Kartel.
The artiste has since recovered and rebounded from life-threatening injuries after being shot in Liguanea last December to produce five new singles. His most popular tracks, “Run Go Fi Strap”, “Rice A Steam” and “Fimme Town” have gained over 224,000 views on YouTube, which continue to steadily increase with his popularity.
