As Jamaicans continue to desperately look for missing university student, Jasmine Deen, Dancehall artistes have also joined the cry. The 22-year-old has been missing since February 27th. She is a University of the West Indies (UWI) student and is also visually impaired.

Well known producer Skatta Burrell also shared his feelings and chastised the person or persons that would take the innocent young lady. After his comment, using the same the video clip as Kartel, he also reposts a paragraph from the Jamaican Star.
He said: “When mankind reduce themselves to the behavioral attributes of animals society needs to make a collective effort to push back and send a clear message this is not accepted. A simple repost can bring some level of awareness to this man’s plight. We have no idea the hurt he’s feeling and my heart goes out to him and his family.”
It has been almost two weeks since 22-year-old Jasmine ‘Maya’ Deen, who is visually impaired, has been home. The international relations major at the University of the West Indies (UWI) went to school about 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 27.
But after 9 p.m., Jasmine’s worried, younger sister told their father Lloyd Deen to call and check up on her. “Right a way me call her … She say ‘Daddy, me deh pon a taxi.’ She never really said where she was … anyway, my credit done,” he recalled. Shortly after, he told his son to call Jasmine again. “Him call her 10 minutes after that, she answer and she seh ‘Me deh inna the taxi’,” he said. When Jasmine didn’t return home that night, it was painful. Now it is even worse.”
Dancehall artiste, Dj, Producer, host and voice actor, Zj Sparks also reposted the same clip and paragraph with the caption: “This is disheartening. Someone knows, someone must have seen.”
Another Dancehall student Lila Iké (Alecia Tameka Grey) retweeted a flyer with Deen’s information also in an attempt to help locate her. The #JasmineDeen has been retweeted numerous times by people from all walks of life who are desperately trying to locate her.

Even Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness has called on the nation to band together to find the missing woman.
At the official launch of the Spotlight Initiative, on March 9th, he said: “I am personally hurt by this – to think that something terrible could have befallen her – and we pray to God that this is not the case. We hope that some mercy could reach the hearts of those who have her captive, if that is the case, to release her. The entire Jamaica is praying for her safe return.”
Students of the University are also coming together to try and raise money for a reward for her safe return.
