With the release of dvsn’s latest album, A Muse In Her Feelings, comes a new collaboration between the Canada-based singer-producer duo and international Dancehall artiste, Popcaan. ‘So What’, released three days ago, accompanied eight other tracks on the new album, which premiered on April 17.

So What starts with a spoken prelude from Popcaan and then flows easily into the chorus voiced by dvsn’s Daniel Daley. The track continues with both artistes owning a verse and culminates with the second verse and bridge from Daley.

The new single, produced by dvsn producer Nineteen85 and released under the OVO Sound label, forms a part of the second section of the album titled, “Get Over It”, which includes four of sixteen songs on the album.

Notably, “So What” is creatively laced with Jamaican patios ad libs and dubs, and skillfully features Popcaan’s renowned lingo including the recently popularized, “chubble” (Trouble).

Already racking up over 33,000 views since its upload to YouTube, this track is highly representative of a seamless collaboration between two genres of music.

This isn’t the first time Popcaan has collaborated with the OVO team. Popcaan has previously teamed up with OVO captain and international Hip Hop and R&B artiste, Drake – with whom he has a professional relationship and friendship – to produce his last album, Vanquish , under the OVO Sound label and imminent projects to be released this year.

Last week, Drake teased an unreleased song with Popcaan that might appear on his upcoming sixth studio album.

The Unruly leader has also worked with other artistes and producers from the OVO camp.

The premiere of So What comes shortly after the release of Dangerous City , another Reggae/Dancehall collaboration on the album featuring Buju Banton and Ty Dolla $ign. A Muse in Her Feelings, which is split into four sections, also features other popular international artistes like PartyNextDoor, Jessie Reyez, Future, Snoh Aalegra, Summer Walker and Shantel May.
