Shaggy To Perform On ABC’s ‘The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart’ Tomorrow
For years now Grammy-winning Dancehall veteran Shaggy has been making inroads into the US market and has been quite successful at promoting his brand of Jamaican music. He had a bumper year in 2019 when he joined Disney’s Lion King Cast as Sebastian the Crab and is expected to release an updated version of Hot Shot in honour of its 20th anniversary.
Shaggy, whose real name is Orville Richard Burrell, will soon be able to add another prime time TV appearance to his list of American accolades as he’s been invited to perform live, on the highly rated ABC television series, ‘The Bachelor Presents Listen To Your Heart‘.
It’s believed he will perform one of his most successful songs to date, It Wasn’t Me, while two of the contestants on the show do backup vocals for him.
Listen to Your Heart, is a spin-off of the Bachelor in Paradise television series and is a romantic reality series. Twenty aspiring musicians are placed in a house and go on music-related dates. The competition hinges around the harmony of the couples as they are made to compete by taking part in various musical challenges, including live performances.
Shaggy will be taking the stage at 8 pm Eastern time, which is 7 pm Jamaican time.
The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart, premiered on April 13th and will be another big boost for Shaggy’s career as the show which has a 0.7 rating among adults 18-49 has just under 3 million total viewers. The show was created because of the delay in production on The Bachelorette due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Shaggy posted about his upcoming performance on Instagram, with a short accompanying audio clip, which he captioned: “Shaggy x Bachelor Happy Hour Podcast. Click link to listen to full episode. Also catch me performing live on @listentoyourheartabc May 11th!!”
