Daddy1 Pulls Up At The Drop Top In New Video For ‘Swag Shop’
Dancehall artiste Daddy1 (Bro Gad) has released the official music video for another of his lyrically potent and fun-filled singles.
Hailing from the newly famed dancehall alliance – 6IX, Daddy1, who was recently labeled as a rapper by the veteran King of the Dancehall Beenie Man, has now released the video for his single ‘Swag Shot’ which debuted on Feb 14.
Produced by Drop Top Records in partnership with Shane Creative and Johnny Wonder, the May 21, 2020 video release primarily highlighted the Clarks Brand – a territory explored by other Jamaican artistes such as the Worl’ Boss Vybz Kartel and fellow dancehall artiste Jahvillani who was offered an endorsement by the international official brand.
The designer, brand-name clad video has already received north of 119,000 views on Youtube. Perhaps in response to Beenie Man, and defense of the ‘Next Level’ artiste, fans have described the song as clean in diction and magical in flow, – ‘Just a well-done song;
Themed with youthful exuberance, the 20-year-old shows off his purchasing power in the swagger, fashion, and designer adorned song. Set in one of the store locations of the popular high fashion merchant- Brick Bran, the Bro Gad sings of how he pulls up at the ‘Drop Top Swag Shop’ to get a few brand-named merchandise.
The publicity tactic in the video for the Brit Bran brand showcases the artiste selecting what he labels as, “bad Clark’s, bad hat”. Taking a selfie for his ‘Snap’, the ‘Role Model’ deejay, swaged to his ‘high end’ I-Phone, unlocked with custom eye-scan.
Highlighting brands such as Clarks, Polo, Jordan, BMV, Benz, Daddy1 makes sure to mention his 6IX T-shirt and chopped pants. Swag to the max ‘inna hustle mood’ Daddy 1 metaphorically rolls out in style describing his Clark’s as a BMW signed Benz Shoes.
Served by stalking store attendant Ashley, who wants his digits, the artiste sings of popping Belair wine, as she takes him to the dressing room. The (no mask) shopping experience caught on camera at ‘Brittanable’, ended with the 6IX kid and his shopping friends leaving with their own bag of brands from their spend.
