Vybz Kartel Serenades Women Of The World In His Latest Song, ‘With You’: Listen
Women of the world are being celebrated in Vybz Kartel’s latest song, ‘With You.’ The song was posted on YouTube earlier today, May 29.
The track is on the Club House Riddim, which is a more laid back dancehall riddim and was produced by Sweet Music. It’s a different style for the Worl’ Boss who croons in this one.
Kartel’s unmistakable vocals start the track with: “Sweet Music Kartel. Represent fi di gyal dem. We represent fi di gyal dem New York gyal dem, London gyal dem Represent fi di gyal dem Kingston gyal dem,” before he dives in and praises women for the time that they take to maintain themselves and he also lauds their natural beauty.
In his unique storytelling style, Kartel describes the things he wants to do to show women appreciation. “You’re so beautiful, I want to pop champagne with you,” he sings. Kartel’s voice glides off the R&B infused beat as he continues to share his admiration and adoration of women.
The song is just under three minutes long and seems to just be Kartel’s genuine feelings for women.
The Gaza family immediately began showing their appreciation for the Kartel styled ballad. This die-hard Gaza fan said: “First here. Let’s Glorify The Black Woman, After all Women are the Life of the world. Gaza In Life, Gaza In Death!!” another added jokingly: “My neighbor pelt a stone through my window to hear this louder.”
Vybz Kartel’s reach has also been gaining global appeal as this fan all the way from Fiji commented: “it’s 3 o’clock in the morning here in Fiji and I have to say I’m a simple man. If I see World Boss in my notifications, I click it. ,” and another fan was in amazement at the incarcerated deejay’s work ethic: “Now addi you dey behind bars and is like you still dey road you the baddest bumbocloth artist alive.”
The song does not appear on the soon to be released Of Dons and Divas album, and may have been done just to keep his fans satisfied knowing that he’s still putting out work.
Fans will no doubt be awaiting the release of a video for With You, which you can listen to below.
