Kranium Recruits Tiwa Savage For ‘Gal Policy’ Remix: Listen
The multifaceted dancehall artist Kranium has released a remix of ‘Gal Policy’ featuring Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage.
The Jamaican born artist is well known for his melodic flow combining dancehall with multiple sounds. Kranium has collaborated with so many other entertainers including Ty Dolla $ign, Wiz Kid, Major Lazer, Tory Lanez, Kojo Funds, Idris Elba, Rotimi, Bebe Rexha and Ed Sheeran.
Kranium has been an active artist since his internationally recognized single ‘Nobody Has To Know’ in 2013 produced by PLMR, and which gave him a deal with Atlantic Records.
The ‘Gal Policy’ Remix follows his other recent remix, ‘ Quarantine Clean ’ which debuted June 8th on YouTube featuring Skillibeng.
The song brings new tones to the original hit ‘Gal Policy’ which Kranium dropped in March on the Soul Survivor Riddim.
The remix is full of advice on how to approach women with a successful result and how to avoid drama, while making note of his sexual experience. “Every mistress know dem policy/ After nine o’clock she cyaan’ call me”
The tune goes even further with the addition of singer, actress Tiwa Savage, who compliments it with her unique sensuality. A fictional encounter between both artistes grows the heat of the song in an explicit disclosing of love. “I am losing my mind baby/ So I have to step away”. The melodic and soft approach to the song gives a switch to the original one keeping Kranium’s essence and honesty.
Tiwa Savage surprises us with an incredible understanding of how Kranium moves in his music. Matter of fact, she has been versatile in her career following a consistent path through Afrobeats, R&B, pop and hip-hop on her own.
The songwriter has outstanding beginnings. She started her music career backing up vocals for big names artists such as George Michael and Mary J. Blige, and became the first woman winner of the Best African Act at 2018 MTV Europe Music Awards.
The collaboration boosts their professionality and leaves us longing for a live performance. The new Gal Policy remix is already running across the YouTube top songs in the Caribbean, and it is under the consideration for tops hits this summer.
