The Beenie Man Foundation Brings COVID-19 Relief To Craig Town’s Vulnerable
The Beenie Man Foundation on Saturday (June 13) distributed COVID-19 relief packages in the artiste’s home community of Craig Town.
Beenie Man himself participated in the community activation which was aimed at the elderly and others who have fallen on hard times due to the COVD-19 pandemic which has not only impacted health but livelihoods.
According to Beenie Man, returning to Craig Town, which he cites as the community in which he honed his musical skills, was an emotional journey.
“It was a very emotional and nostalgic journey going back to the community and home that bred a spectacular man today. The love and support that was brought out today is nothing short of love and unity within the community,” said Beenie Man.
Beenie Man alongside two of his daughters spent the better part of Saturday distributing care packages, as well as, vibing with members of the community.
Previously the foundation had distributed COVID-19 care packages in the Water House community.
Beenie Man relaunched the foundation in 2018, noting that one of its aims was to raise awareness about sickle cell disease, which is the most common genetic disorder in Jamaica.
The artiste at the time had shared that his son Moses Jr suffers from the effects of the sickle-cell trait.
