Shenseea Addresses Highly Insensitive Rumors That ‘She Sacrificed Her Mother’s Life’
A bereaved Shenseea went Live on Instagram two days ago to address the horrific and highly distasteful rumors that accused her of sacrificing her mother’s life to achieve success in her career.
Cloaked behind heavily tinted sunglasses, she forced back the tears and thanked her loved ones and friends for sending several bouquets that were overflowing behind her. The Dancehall star told her fans that the best thing they could do for her right now was to pray for her and her son Raj. “They were really close, and she spoil him rotten,” Shenseea said.
Shenseea’s mother passed away unexpectedly early Thursday morning on June 25th after being admitted in the hospital for a mild stroke and heart attack. The doctors informed her that a stroke seemingly occurred prior, but her mother, who perhaps was unaware, still didn’t say anything about the symptoms she was experiencing.
Talking to her followers, the 23-year-old singer said, “When mi see mi madda mi really did swear she did a go pull through, mi n’even did really a fret. Mi did sad… I was there and mi a seh, ‘mummy weh yaa do a di hospital? Yuh just need fi come out; just do wah yuh need fi do and just come out’. It did really heartbreaking fi go deh and see har just like that…”
Shenseea revealed that prior to her mother’s passing, like a blessing, ‘God brought her back’ so she was able to tell her mother that she loved her and mom was able to tell her back the same. She will never forget that, the Blessed singer said.
A devastated Shenseea shared the news of her mother’s passing via Instagram and received thousands of messages of support from fans and other entertainers, including her main rival Jada Kingdom. However, it did not take the trolls long to unleash their nasty comments.
Confronting the audaciousness of the claims that initially came through a tweet, she said the devil indeed sent them to taunt her, but God is watching them. She called the haters’ sick’ and added that as much as she gets hate on social media, nothing has compared to the level of negative energy she has felt through these recent comments.
“You see in a time like this when mi madda dead and unno come a talk bout sacrifice, that show mi seh the devil himself send unno, so mi n’even fi get worked up over that, but mi need unno fi know seh I really can find you…but I won’t cause you can’t hide from God,” she said.
Shenseea’s mother worked as a live-in helper and took on odd jobs to care for and send her through school growing up. It wasn’t until she got older that she would see and understand what other helpers would endure. Shenseea even said, had she known this in high school, it would have pushed her harder in her studies, maybe she wouldn’t have been a musician but something more, something greater.
She’s shattered that she won’t be able to repay her mother for the struggles she went through to raise her, “Mi disappointed seh mi just a really start show her life,” the singer said.
