Shenseea Claps Back At More Fan Criticism Of Her Grieving Process
Dancehall singer Shenseea is once again being scrutinized by trolls on social media, this time for not grieving in the traditional and acceptable way it appears. It’s been over a week since her mother passed, and she has had to endure some pretty mean and bizarre claims but nonetheless has remained positive.
As she continues ‘doing her’ and what makes her happy, Shenseea has been a constant on Instagram and Twitter, from addressing the eerie claims that she ‘sacrificed’ her mother, to thanking the Prime Minister, Andrew Holness for sending flowers. Her latest uploads were a collage of videos on her IG page of fans celebrating her music from across the globe.
One such video was of three girls singing and vibing to her The Sidechick Song single, which she captioned, “Apart from my family, friends, and team; I need y’all to know how HAPPY this makes me! IT MAKES ME HAPPY when I see my #ShenYengz enjoying my music, it makes me happy to make y’all happy! And me know unu tired fi hear it but me love unu to me heart, thank you”
The post, however, struck a nerve with a few followers more so critics, one in particular, commented, “Ur mum just died n u are celebrating.”

Shenseea is never the type to turn the other cheek, she snapped back with a response, “My mother’s death showed me I should be grateful for everything I have and life my life to the fullest because I don’t know when my time will come!” she said.
She continued, “As for you and everyone else who thinks talking about my mom in a bad way will hurt me or try to make me feel guilty about her passing IT’S NOT WORKING. I love my mom and EVERYBODY sees that CLEARLY. The fact that alot a y’all would wanna see me fall off and depressed, that in itself MOTIVATES me to keep going!”
Many supporters quickly came to defend the ShengYeng princess, some of them read:
“My g. mind yuh business and let her live her life and she don’t need to be in a dark place. She deserve it and always love her mudda, mind yuh business and watch how you talk yute!”
“Sometimes ppl just need to know when to back the f–k off, leave the girl and make she feel happy. Shenseea keep doing your thing and do you mama respect.”
“Everyone has as a right to grieve differently, you cannot judge how someone grieves.”
“She’s coping at least she’s not harming herself and doing drugs…”
“So she should stop her life and keep crying? Mind your own business,”
“Her mom wouldn’t want her to be sad, she would want her to be happy.”
