Earlier today, the singer also seemingly revealed what the new album means to him. “You know when you’re making a fire and it starts with a flicker, but then you see it start catch then it burst into flames and you cannot take your eye off it? Yeh just like that,” he said in one tweet.

Protoje, whose real name is Oje Ken Ollivierre, formed the group In.Digg.Nation, which manages Lila Iké and Sevana.  The collective, which was formed about six years ago, recently inked a deal with RCA Records and Six Course, which would see album releases from Protoje and his signees.

Ike’s debut EP, The ExPerience , has been a success, and Sevana this week released the first single, If You Only Knew, from her forthcoming 6-track EP Be Somebody.

When the group was formed he said: “I felt like I didn’t have a lot of popular artists mentoring me or putting me on [when I started], so instead of building upwards— I don’t know who said this but—sometimes you have to build laterally,” he says. “You have to build with who is beside you so you can be self-sustaining.”

Earlier this year he shared the news that he was working in the studio with Swizz Beatz: “Mad honour for the link up @therealswizzz and @aliciakey was a real magical night.”

Fellow reggae artiste Kabaka Pyramid also seemed excited about new music next week.  He tweeted a photo of himself, Protoje and Chronixx with the caption: “Time to take over the airwaves again. Who ready?” He, however, later indicated that he was not talking about a collaboration: “To be clear. We each have new music. Its not a collab…..yet.”

No doubt, fans are looking forward to hearing what Protoje has produced.  One of them declared, “Now there’s some good news!” while this fan predicted big things for the album “Me a call it from now… Grammy nominee.”
