Drake And Popcaan Living It Up In Barbados During Yacht Party
Drake was living it up in Barbados as he enjoyed a yacht party with friends along the popular Nikki Beach in St. Peter Parish in Barbados. At least, that’s what it appears to be, but industry sources say the OVO rapper is in the Caribbean for work that involves his upcoming 6th studio album.
The God’s Plan rapper is seen diving and enjoying the warm Caribbean Sea surrounded by friends who include superstar Popcaan and Rihanna’s brother as they are filmed by a cameraman.
Drake can be seen at first wearing a basketball shirt as other men on the yacht relax and lounge around. In other pictures, he’s seen wearing nothing but some extra short swim trunks showing off his toned abs and biceps and maybe other things you can use your imagination for!
In one photo, he’s seen laughing as he interacts with Popcaan, who is holding a glass of wine and flicking his thumb- a friendly show of camaraderie exchanged among Jamaican men.
According to Hollywood Life, the rapper and his crew flew to Barbados on his new private plane for work and is shooting a video for his upcoming album.
Drake is currently producing his 6th album, and Popcaan may appear on at least one track. In April, the Toronto rapper teased a few seconds of a song with Popcaan that got fans excited for its official release.
Drake’s 6th album has special significance and is expected to drop sometime in August, two years after his chart-topper Scorpion was released. He has since enjoyed success with a series of singles, including Toosie Slide and Life is Good Ft Future in the last few months, but fans that have been waiting for an album were not satisfied with just the singles being released.
In May this year, he released the Dark Lane Memo Tapes made up of 14 songs. In interviews, the OVO rapper however, suggests his 6th album is likely to be shorter than his previous album. The number 6 has special significance for the Toronto based rapper with some speculating the album might be called 6th, or it may have six tracks.
Earlier this month, he teased that the new album is 80% done. It seems he’s wrapping up the tail end with fun while on the job.
We’re definitely looking forward to the album as Popcaan and Drake on the same beat is sure to be fire. The last time Champagne Papi and Popcaan came together was on Controlla that hit Billboard Hot 100 songs at #11 for R&B/Hip-Hop.
Popcaan has also hinted at an imminent collaboration with his OVO boss, as well as an upcoming mixtape that follows Vanquish, which was his first project under Drake’s OVO recording label. He told Onstage tv host Winford Williams in February, after his visit to Africa, that the project will be released this year on the OVO label.
We’re hoping there is more to the OVO connects between Popcaan and Drizzy Drake on both albums!
Drake and crew left the island yesterday on his $185 million private airline with a special message for Bajans.
Barbados based photographer, Justin Catwell, caught the Boeing 767 jet, dubbed ‘Air Drake’ arriving and leaving the island with photos on his Instagram page.
