Lila Iké Performs For NPR’s Tiny Desk Home Concert: Watch
Rising reggae singer Lila Iké was nothing short of amazing in her Tiny Desk (home) concert, now available via the American nonprofit organization NPR.
The songstress shared a clip of the performance on her Instagram page earlier today, expressing her gratitude to NPR for the opportunity and members of her team, including @nickiikone and @davyfresh for a great set up. Watch the performance below.
Tiny Desk concerts are a video series of live concerts hosted by NPR Music based in the US. With over 800 concerts viewed a collective 2 billion times on YouTube, the songstress has joined Koffee as well as international stars such as Alicia Keys, Chance the Rapper, and T-Pain, by performing on the popular series.
Fans of the songbird were sure to leave comments under the post as they enjoyed her performance. One fan, having watched the concert prior to the singer’s post, commented, “Just finished watching, and I see this. Really really great set. Band sounded fantastic too (fire emojis). To which the singer replied, “bid dem up every time.” Another fan commented that the artiste is a “young legend (fire emojis).”
Based on the reactions received, the 4-song Tiny Desk quarantine concert had a calming vibe which started off with a rendition of Solitude .
The other songs performed by the entertainer were her hit single I Spy , Forget Me, and finally Thy Will, which all appear on her debut EP The ExPerience.
Lila and her crew of musicians were outfitted at a home in Jamaica for the video. A representative from the music organization of NPR mentioned that the layout resembled the Tiny Desk’s home in Washington D.C.
Lila Iké, whose real name Alecia Grey, made her debut in 2017 with the single Biggest Fan produced by Protoje’s In. Digg Nation Collective Label to which she is signed.
