Devin Di Dakta Is “Wise” And In A “Different Gear”

While everyone has been in quarantine, not even COVID-19 could keep the artiste away from the studio. Anthony Clarke, more popularly known as Devin Di Dakta, has been hard at work in the studio honing his craft and working on his upcoming iAMe002 & iAMe003 projects.

We caught up with him recently via email and he gave us some insight into his recent release, Wise with Reemus K – son of Sizzla Kalonji.

Reemus sent Devin the song and it immediately grabbed his attention, he says. The St. Mary native then decided to “shell it” on the track, producing this cohesive piece which will be the second song on his iAMe002 project.

Focusing on positivity, this song gives a lesson on progressive thinking and innovation. It advises the youth to uplift themselves positively.

His entire second project will focus on youth and uplifting society. “I have another song and music video from this project to be released shortly called Confidence and is produced by T-Whizz Records & video by “SpaceGray Media.”

Devin has released a new video for Different Gear, a song released in August 2019.

He told DancehallMag, he was inspired to do a video because of the fresh feel he gets every time he listens to it.  It is not the one he wanted but due to the coronavirus pandemic, he decided to do it solo in observing the social distancing protocols laid out by the Ministry of Health.

In the future, we can look forward to an official video, he said.

Devin has always sought to bring positive vibes to the industry and may bid us farewell in his third project, which may be his last set of music, iAMe003. The highlight of his life and career is, simply put, “being in control”.
