Cedella Marley Celebrates Her 53rd Birthday With Some Sibling Love
Cedella Marley, first-born daughter of reggae icon Bob Marley, celebrated her 53rd birthday yesterday and received tons of love from her siblings.
Most of the greetings came in on Instagram, with her younger brothers Ziggy and Stephen Marley sharing youthful snapshots of her pics on their accounts.
“Blessed Earthstrong to our beloved sister @cedellamarley,” Stephen said to kick off the tributes.
Ziggy Marley wrote: “celebrating big sister @cedellamarley aka nice time birth today JAH #lioness.”
In Ziggy’s post, she is seen wearing a black Jamaican vest. She has one hand raised in the air and was definitely caught having a great time.

Both Ziggy and Cedella have always had a striking resemblance to their father.
She has cultivated her own identity and is not only a Jamaican singer, but a dancer, fashion designer, actress, and entrepreneur. She and Ziggy formed the Melody Makers at their father’s request, and over the years, they have shared their vision of bringing people together through music.
The band comprised of four of Bob Marley’s ten children, vocalist/guitarist Ziggy, vocalist/guitarist/drummer Stephen, vocalist Cedella, and vocalist Sharon. Both Ziggy and Stephen shared in the songwriting and lead vocals.
The group stayed together for about three decades and has released over ten albums, which include their Grammy-winning albums Conscious Party, One Bright Day, and Fallen Is Babylon.
Cedella is also the mother of the upcoming reggae artiste Skip Marley, who posted, “Blessed Earthstrong Mom @cedellamarley the real lion 🦁 Every day you amaze us in every way, through these times of change you remain the same, our leader we love you❤️.”
In a post of her own alongside her son, Cedella said she was “feeling blessed to celebrate my earthstrong with loved ones.”
“One more year on this beautiful earth means one more year to spread positive energy. For my birthday, I want everyone to do their part to #StopTheSpread by wearing a mask. ❤️ #StaySafe,” she continued.
