Reemus K Talks ‘Wise’ Collab With Devin Di Dakta, New EP
Jamaican artiste Reemus K is encouraging youth to optimise their potential and make better decisions in his latest release, Wise, which features Devin Di Dakta. The motivational number sees both acts taking turns delivering potent bars about perseverance and discernment, themes captured by Yaadboiiz Films in the accompanying visuals.
Speaking to DancehallMag, Reemus said the track falls in line with his mission to release music, which inspires and motivates.
“The song is basically about the youths from the ghetto, elders, or anybody else,” he started. “We a inspire them fi wise up and realise waa gwaan now and motivate them to create a better future for themselves and others too.”
He added that the collaboration wasn’t improbable as he’s known Devin Di Dakta since their days at the Institute of Academic Excellence in Kingston. Like the song, the production is also a collaborative effort between Reemus’ Korrection Muzic Group and Saint Kingston Music label.
Wise forms part of Reemus’ Spiritual EP, which debuted on Audiomack on August 24. The self-produced eight-track project was engendered by the COVID-19 pandemic, and emits a mellow sonic, meditational lyrics and lessons of enduring life’s obstacles.
“The EP wasn’t a prepared EP… COVID give me the time to do that album,” he said. “Me get a compilation of songs I have and it’s like mi mind and mi soul just tell mi seh, ‘yeah I can drop this’ and from mi drop it on Audiomack I’ve been getting great feedback and a lot of compliments and motivational comments and more stuff like that. People love it man.”
He added, “Spiritual is like the feeling weh me woulda have still but it’s like the energy weh mi a try bring out to the world, good overall.”
The project has earned more than 9000 streams on the platform and is included in Audiomack‘s trending category for reggae music.

Reemus sings about overcoming resistance a lot in his music, and explained, “It’s not just about me (but) also about others who are going through fights and struggles as well spiritually or physically.”
Spiritual precedes another EP in the works dubbed Mental Meditation.
