YengBadness boss, Intence is unstoppable in his new track Hot Topic. The audacious young talent is pretty determined to make a name for himself, not only is he releasing new music at a rapid pace but is doing so even if it means copping the title of a recently released track by his Dancehall counterpart.

Tommy Lee Sparta said he was in fact the Hot Topic last month in one of his latest singles and the first release after being freed from police detention. Lee’s single debuted on August 21 with the same title, which classified him as the current buzz around town and particularly the ‘name on all the girl’s lips.’

Intence’s new track and his version of Hot Topic might have a similar concept but the emphasis on “me” in the hook, “ah me a di hot topic,” seems quite condescending and shady to its antecedent. As he asserts this claim he goes on to back it in lyrics.

For one, the deejay says look where his 15 minutes of fame got him, “Mi a talk bout some house, some rides, some millions, foreign gal abroad / Mi turn g’s in couple mill, if a nuh house pon di hill, duh no bodda mi. … cant tappit cant tappit, man a hot topic.”

In a very cool and collected style, he then unleashes some very depreciating rhymes, “A we own di property, some likkle man lapse, dem drop asleep, a me a di hot topic, Yeng boss pon di riddim what a juggling,” he says playing with subliminal referencing. This has left many to believe perhaps, “some likkle man” could be Tommy Lee and his “lapse” from the scene has made him (Intence) the real Hot Topic in the streets.

This is Intence’s first musical project with Romeich Entertainment since breaking ties with Boysie Records last month. The partnership may just be the solidarity he was looking for, as Romeich appears in the music video, buoyed in his big chair securing the deejay’s wads of cash.

Released just 1 day ago, on September 20, Intence’s Hot Topic has accumulated over 115k views, 15k likes and more than 12k raving comments on YouTube where he launched the track and accompanying visuals.
