A’mari Says Shenseea Is Trying To Outdo Her With Her Own Song ‘Neko’
Shenseea trying to outshine A’ mari? Bright and out of order… Well, that’s how A’mari sees it.
Having recently ended her feud with fellow artiste Jada Kingdom, Dancehall diva Shenseea finds herself in a fresh spat with controversial entertainer and social media personality A ‘mari “DJ Mona Lisa”.
An innocent gesture appears to have landed Shenseea in hot water when the Shenyeng Anthem artiste posted a video on social media of herself singing a rendition of A’ mari’s song ‘Neko.’
A’ mari, obviously not happy with what she saw, later responded in a social media rant, telling unnamed artistes singing her song to cease and stick to writing their own music since they had no part in helping her to make her song.
“At the end a the day unu a go thing say a unu mek mi and a the ghetto people mek mi, di goodie dem mek mi…”
A’ mari wasn’t quite done after posting her first response to the video. Making matters worse, she sat down for a Pelpa Time Production interview, posted on YouTube on September 21, where she expressed displeasure with the Sure Sure singer’s version of her song, asserting that Shenseea’s motives were disingenuous.
She stated, “To be honest with you I wasn’t pleased about Shenseea because it was more wanting to take the music from me, wanting to outdo me with my own song; I could tell the difference.”
In her mind, Shenseea was trying to put her flavor on the song, doing it “her way” in an attempt to top her original.
A’ mari told host Floyd Tekoff that Shenseea was attempting to, “Do it her way to outdo mine. And then her fans were writing me and saying I should become a songwriter and let her sing the song cuz she do a better job than me.”
“I think that they are bright and out of order,” responded A’ mari when asked what she thought about fans telling her to “go sit down” and be a songwriter instead of trying to be a singer.
She continued, “I don’t think no one could sing that song like I did…because I’m the one who felt the hurt in everything, the song is my baby but she wanted to make the song her own and to use my own song to knock me out and take over.”
Shenseea’s fans, she complained, “…were dissing me and saying it’s a good song, but Shenseea should have sung it and not you.”
Shenseea jokingly responded to A’ mari’s interview, resharing the video on her Instagram account with the caption, “Mi tell unu bou di duttygyal shenseea enuh! Me nae tell unu??? She nuh good!!! DONE AR AMARI!”, adding the hashtag “#MashUpRLife”
