Kranium Stars As Dr. Love In Long Awaited Visuals For ‘Gal Policy’
The music video for arguably one of the year’s most memorable tracks is finally available. If the Soul Survivor Riddim owned the summer airwaves, then Kranium’s Gal Policy was the standout star on the mellow and melodic showcase. Kranium’s lush and sultry vocals helped him land his enviable Atlantic Records deal and even boosted him among notable international names such as Wizkid. Now the New York-based deejay has unveiled the long-awaited, spicy music video starring the crooner as a crafty love doctor.
The Gal Policy lyric video currently has 14 million views, indicating the buzz that the gyallis anthem built up despite limited promotion due to lockdowns. The track was also a hit over on Spotify where the ‘Melody Gad’ eventually became the Dancehall Official playlist cover star after racking up over 1.5 million streams. “It’s humbling during tough times worldwide that people are finding peace and solace in streaming a song of mine. To see ‘Gal Policy’ take off the way it has and continues to do so is amazing” Kranium told The New York Carib News back in July.
Naturally, Kranium didn’t disappoint with the video and even has plans for a follow up entitled Through The Window. In the Mills Miller directed clip, the steamy singjay plays a slick relationship counselor who goes the extra mile to ‘satisfy his customers’.
Even with a close call at the end, Kranium never gets caught, leaving his fans with a hilarious summary of his services. “Boyfriend not handling you right? Call Now! Ask Dr. Kranium. Disclaimer: Dr. Kranium is not responsible if your man goes through your phone or comes home early. I’m available for in person consultations, texts, and/or calls before 9pm any day,” the flyer read.
Needless to say, the fan reactions completely match the hype around the hit. VLADO MANHIMSELF wrote, “Ah Jah Kno … OCEAN WAVE IS A HIT SONG BUT THIS SONG TAKE THE RIDDIM #GALPOLICY”, while Krishna S wrote “Boooooom!!!!! If a yute yah bad 1 more time……..Tuff TALENTED artist shout out to di director(s) excellent job. Road yute!” Many others were simply excited that the video is finally out and equally impressed by the creative concept that fittingly sums up his warning — “so fore you feel the pain, don’t treat all ah di gyal dem di same”.
