Lila Iké Takes To Instagram To Shut Down Fake Contact
Jamaican songbird Lila Iké has come out strongly to refute claims that she has any business dealings with one Kemar Starboss.
On her Instagram account, The Where I’m Coming From artiste made the declaration in a post pointing out that she was not working with him and anyone utilizing a logo indicating they were ‘team Lila Ike’ and therefore anyone seeking jingles and dubs should go through the correct channel for such.
“Posting this temporarily to inform anyone who may be trying to reach out for dub plates or jingles to not engage in any business with @kemar_starboss or anyone using this logo it is not associated with me in any way. For dub plates and jingles please reach out to @indiggcollective or @dainjamental_dpk”.
A quick look to the page for kemar_starboss had revealed that in August, pictures of the logo were uploaded but since then, the page has gone private. It’s not clear what exactly may be the relationship between the two but it seems they were known to each other as neighbours and possibly friends, with photos showcasing them at what seems to be family gatherings.
Commenting on the post IN.DIGG.NATION, frontman Protoje simply went with “smh”. Championgal_pat, who seemed knowledgeable about the situation, weighed in with “Him too out of order mi tell him a prison work” to which Ike replied, “Me cya belive the man Pat”. Championgirl Pat foll0wed up with “smh yow him wicked and surprise me”. Another commented “Dats why yuh cyah mix wid people jus suh, a bay vampire bout yah”.
It’s uncertain what other steps Lila will take in the matter but with her image at stake and possibly money involved, she may have to resort to the law if this person does not cease and desist.
Earlier this year she had released her debut EP, the ExPerience, that has been getting rave reviews for its authentic nature and her mellow vocals
