Shaneil Muir Is A Real Boss In New ‘Yamabella’ Music Video: Watch
Dancehall’s newest treasure, Shaneil Muir is leaving a trail of fire in her path as she dropped new visuals for her widely successful single, Yamabella. The new video production, directed by Kenny Gray debuted on ShaneilMuirVEVO via YouTube yesterday, September 30.
The breakout summer jam became an instant hit with fans, more so with the ladies as Muir’s lyrics brazenly called out the foolery among people-pleasers and particularly young girls that lower their morals for the acceptance of men. While Yamabella points out these societal expectancies, it also encourages one to live their truth instead of yielding under the pressure – not something you typically hear in a Dancehall track.
The new music video has come as a reiteration; Shaneil is live on set dishing her words of wisdom and counsel while throwing up reprimanding fingers to get her message across … just in case it didn’t quite register before.
In what appears to be an overseas locale, the singer plays her responsible self, paying her bills online before heading out to party. She’s out having a good time in a backyard lime but isn’t about to take any chat from the boys. “Mi na spend my rent in a no party, mi na buy Patrón if me don’t have a pot … what a good ting mi nu live fi impress people. I will never ever live fi impress people,” she sings in her assertive tones.
The viral video is streaming pretty well so far, accumulating more than 110k views under 24 hours since its release yesterday. The fans are certainly out in numbers, among the 22k Likes, 1.4k gave Shaneil’s video release rave reviews as many are still caught up on the illuminating message of the song.
