Beenie Man Denies Responsibility For Spice, Daddy1 Being ‘Boxed Down’ And Bogle’s Murder
King of the Dancehall Moses ‘Beenie Man’ Davis addressed claims that suggest he was responsible for separate altercations that saw Dancehall Queen Spice and rising Dancehall star Daddy1 being “boxed down,” allegedly by members of his entourage.
The entertainer also sought to dispel allegations that he was involved in the untimely death of popular dancer Gerald “Bogle” Levy.
Spice
During a recent interview with Youtuber Teach Dem, Beenie claimed that he and Spice have absolutely no feud and there is no truth to persistent allegations that he was at the helm of her being abused by his entourage in 2006.
“Me and Spice nuh have nutten, you mad…Spice mek man bax her dung, ah lie unu ah tell pan me…”
Beenie Man recalled that he was in his bus sleeping when Spice was performing at the GT Taylor ‘Extravaganza’ show in St Elizabeth in December of 2006, when his then-wife D’Angel created an uproar about Spice passing remarks about her and she has had enough. The real culprits involved in the altercation, according to Beenie Man were his nephews who brought Spice to his bus after hearing the uproar.
Spice at the time was quoted as saying “bout 20 man come fi me, say dem a carry me to Beenie Man and me ongle hear when him say, Yuh fi go suck yuh madda. Yuh fi get a box inna yuh face.’’
Beenie Man, however, clarified that any negativity directed was not at Spice but rather at Baby Cham, who was also on stage performing with her at the time.
Daddy1
In August of this year, there were also widely publicized allegations that dancehall artiste Daddy1 was slapped in the face by a member of Beenie Man’s crew when they crossed paths at Big Yard Studio in Jamaica.
The Girls Dem Sugar singer was initially reluctant to speak on the matter because the police were involved, but he briefly recalled what happened from his point of view while denying laying hands on the young artiste.
“Ah never me bax him, somebody bax him, ah never me box him,” he said as he raised his hands and added, “these hands, these hands are innocent.”
It was speculated that the tension between the two arose from Beenie Man’s “Summer Sizzle” show where Beenie expected Daddy1 and other members of the Montego-based 6ix group to perform. The group’s spokesperson, Junior ‘Heavy D’ Fraser, had claimed that their absence from the show was due to unprofessional negotiations.
Beenie Man, who during another interview in May had criticized Daddy1 and his brand of Dancehall, explained to Teach Dem that he was not familiar with the singer and questioned who he was. Daddy1 took offense and then called Beenie a “battyman” – a disparaging Jamaican word for a homosexual.
“You can’t say dat…me ah tell you, ah disrespect him disrespect me.” Beenie Man stated.
According to Beenie Man, Daddy1 was boxed shortly after using such derogative term, but he was not the one who did it.
Bogle
Beenie Man addressed the allegations that he was involved in the death of popular dancer Gerald “Bogle” Levy. Bogle was shot and killed on January 20, 2005, while at a gas station in Kingston.
He said even though they had beef he still considered Bogle a friend.
“Bogle ah me fren, ah mi bredrin, me and him born di same day…me and Bogle never have an argument, Bogle just end up ah disrespect me cause him ah par wid Eleman Fant” in reference to Elephant Man.
He said the night when Bogle died, he was in an argument with dancehall artiste Kid Kurrupt who had disrespected Beenie Man’s brother Brian. They however went home and it was 2 hours after reaching home his security personnel advised him of Bogle’s death.
“Me could never harm mi fren cause ah still me fren regardless ah whey you do, as long as you nuh hurt me, you nuh try fi harm me, you nuh try fi harm my family.” Beenie Man noted.
