Singing Melody Loses His Younger Brother To Serious Lung Infection
Reggae singer Singing Melody is mourning the loss of his younger brother, Kenneth Lloyd Hardware who passed away four days ago after an extended illness fighting a serious stomach and lung infection.
“He had been ill and in the hospital for two months battling a stomach and lung infection. He had just been discharged from the Chest Hospital a few weeks ago. The doctors had treated him, then got him to the point where he was able to come out and start the healing process, but now he’s gone,” Singing Melody said.
The Want You Back singer said that his brother had recently begun attending church.
“When I saw him the other day, he didn’t look too well but I knew he was a Hardware, we are tough, he’s a fighter , and we fight the good fight. We miss him and my sister, who is a Christian, is taking it hard but she feels better knowing that he had given his life to God,” the singer said.
Singing Melody took a philosophical approach to his brother’s death.
“When I look at life, I just see this as the next chapter. I have been through a lot, a lot of changes, and this shows you have to take care of yourself, a lot of care needs to go into you, the individual. The important thing is to take care of you, that’s why I became a vegan,” he said.
Singing Melody will be launching his new album, The Next Chapter on October 16th. He is known for his abilities as a vocalist, his production work and for combining aspects of reggae and R&B in his own releases.
He is best known for songs such as the local chart-topper Want You Back, Shower Me With Your Love, Say What, and Let It Flow.
In the 2000s, Singing Melody formed the reggae group LUST with Lukie D, Thriller U, and Tony Curtis — all solo acts, and scored several well-known local hits.
