Cardi B Gets Birthday Shoutouts From Dancehall Faves Spice And Vybz Kartel
Cardi B celebrated her 28th birthday last weekend with countless celebrity well wishes, one being the special shoutout from her favourite female deejay, Spice. The Love and Hip Hop leading ladies have been fans of each other’s style, music and money moves for years.
When Spice caught the after-party dancefloor antics and Cardi boosting a friend with “Make Spice proud”, she posted a sentimental clip of the first time they met at the 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards. “Since it’s @iamcardib birthday let me throw this back to when I met her. She never spoke a lie, she sang songs I did from way back when I just started. How can I not love her? Happy birthday @iamcardib,” Spice wrote.
Cardi and crew were seen twerking to a slew of dancehall hits early Sunday morning including So Mi Like It and Cool It . The rapper who also boasts Caribbean roots often displays her obsession with Dancehall music, and even blasted her faves at daughter Kulture’s birthday party months ago, including One Man by Gaza Slim.

In the three-year-old BET Awards clip, Cardi tells Spice, “You don’t really understand, like you really inspire me. I go way back I’m not like these new ones, from Rude Boy Love to Fight Over Man, a long time” she said, before singing the hook to 2006’s Rude Boy Love. The link-up brought Spice to tears, and their frequent public endorsements of one another have fans hoping for an official collaboration sometime soon.
Also popping up to show the Bronx vixen some birthday love was her favourite male deejay, Vybz Kartel.
Cardi B is far from silent about her love and support for the incarcerated deejay, and recently approved his freemix to her raunchy comeback single WAP.
Reposting Spice’s emotional video, the Worl’ Boss wrote, “Happy Birthday @iamcardib Real Legend who rep for the #Caribbean Str8!!! Nuff Love Muma.
