Protoje Removes Signature Leather Hat Again, This Time For The ‘Gram
Protoje’s fans on Instagram were pleased to discover today that the musician has a full head of healthy locs under his hat.
After jokingly declaring on Twitter a few weeks ago that he had his leather hat surgically removed, complete with an almost unrecognizable selfie, the Switch It Up singer once again revealed his tresses, this time in a very kingly bathtub-side luxury shot.
“Choosing how I spend my time. It’s completely by design,” he captioned the photo of himself wearing a white robe, perched haughtily on a bathtub with an analog telephone to his ear. All but one of his thick locs are caught in a loose chignon on the left side of his head.
The In.Digg.Nation chief also used the post to express his gratitude to the staff at Jamaica Inn Resort, where it is evident that he was living Like Royalty over the weekend. No sooner had he posted the photo than his fans started giving their opinion on the Strange Happenings in their news feed.
“Just call mommy and she reach home safe 👊🏿🦁,” one clever fan commented, referencing Protoje’s Weed & Ting lyrics. Protoje replied: “Ughhhh that shoulda been my caption. Smh.”
While most chose to drop emojis to signal their approval in the comments, one asked “When you start par with Jah Cure? 😂” while another reasoned “At least you’re not taking a bath in the tam😂😂”
Dancehall selector Foota Hype, noted for his intense disapproval of Koffee’s fashion choices, reposted Protoje’s bathrobe photo to solicit opinions from his followers. “Your post is giving me trapped in the closet and trying to make my way out. But you can come out instead on trying to project,” said one Foota follower in response.
In mid-September, Protoje had debuted his hat-free look to Twitter, but his fans flat out refused to believe that the photo was of himself.

To be fair, he started the trolling himself, as he tweeted the photo saying “Finally got my leather hat surgically removed. Wow it feels like taking off braces.”
The Twitterverse was not having it. “Respectfully, please give Proto his phone back, whoever you are Sir,” one fan tweeted, while another replied, “In my opinion, Protoje is high Af so he left his phone with his friend which is obviously higher than Protoje.

Since releasing his In Search Of Lost Time album on August 28, Protoje has been doing a lot of reclusive introspection, according to his social media posts. Nevertheless, he has kept his foot on the pedal where content is concerned. Just five days ago he released his third official video from the album – that of Still I Wonder.
” This songs speaks a lot about misplacing your time and attention when trying to live your best life,” he said by way of announcement. “To make something of yourself is always a challenge. Share this post with someone u think it will connect with. You decide what music others hear, remember that.”
