Danny ‘The Baker’ Vengeance Recants Scathing Attack On Mavado
After accusing the Gully Gad of stealing his music, Danny Vengeance, better known as ‘The Baker’ has recanted on his claims and apologized for the accusations.
In August the emerging Dancehall artiste, who rose to fame after he shot and killed a would-be robber in Miami, called Mavado, ‘Mafraudo’. He used Instagram to claim that Mavado had stolen his song, “Top Shotta” and his ‘credits.’ He tagged Chimney Records, who produced Top Shotta Is Back , and DJ Khaled, head of We The Best Music Group where Mavado is signed.
In a new Instagram video, posted yesterday, The Baker is seen seated on his bed and addresses Jamaican people both locally and abroad.
In the video, which he captioned “takes a man to admit when he is wrong,” The Baker described Mavado as an idol and then blamed followers for the misunderstanding as he sternly said: “unuh need fe stop believe everything unuh hear pon social media,” referring to his claims that he also admitted to initiating.
As he prepares what looks like a marijuana spliff to be smoked, he addressed rumors about whether or not Mavado was raped. It’s something that he insinuated after saying, in August, that both Mavado and Alkaline were into hard drugs.
In his latest video, he said that he was led astray by some information that he received from people in New York. He added that people from all over were calling him with information about Mavado and that the people who were calling were mostly haters. This prompted him to see the error in his ways, he continued.
“Hear wah me ah say Mr. Brooks, me love yuh like meh likkle brother and me nah hate pon yuh neither and me nah go bake neither for no money. The Baker alright, me good, money nah my problem,” he said.
He then lauded praise on Mavado, shouting out his incarcerated son Dante, adding that the Jamaican police were not handling the case right. He continued on to say that what the world needed right now was love and not hate.
“Leave meh spinny boy alone,” he insisted. The Baker said the entire debacle was caused because of the misinformation he received from New York and said the lies drove a further wedge between them. He also blamed Mavado for some of it because he said the Father God singer should have answered his phone and resolved the matter.
“Mavdo, you slip. You see when meh call yuh phone, yuh shoulda answer yuh phone. You shouldn’t wait till three and four months later to answer yuh phone. That no look right. That kinna shady.”
He added again that he would not take money to ‘bake’ Mavado, insinuating that he has been offered money to attack the artiste. He also said that he doesn’t intend to take money from Mavado again. The Baker insisted that he never said that he knew for sure about the several accusations he made but that he only heard about them and passed them on.
The apology comes across as disingenuous because he keeps blaming other people for him spreading rumors and keeps telling Mavado not to worry that he’s after him and that he loves him which implies that he is trying to protect himself as opposed to being sorry for his statements. He even pledges love to both Mavado and Vybz Kartel.
Fans were quick to comment that something didn’t seem right with the sudden apology. This fan said: “The man dem page Baker and him get fraid , gangster u can’t war with the Gully as u r broke,” and this one added: “@jahfus bout ya baker carefull#a u mouth#before#u dirt ina#house🛠️⚰️🚬.”
