Popcaan Joins Forces With Loski For New Banger ‘Avengers’: Watch

Adding to his weekend of crossover wins, Popcaan dropped yet another collaboration with South London up and comer Loski. The thumping, rhythmic banger called Avengers premiered on Youtube last Sunday, delighting fans of the 876 GUD as well as drill scene diehards.

Loski’s legal woes overshadowed the first half of 2020, and it seems the rising grime star has bounced back with a vengeance as he awaits next year’s retrial. 

The Harlem Spartan youngster who’s been hailed by heavyweights like Stormzy and Drake added melody and Marvel-inspired wordplay to his typically gritty bars. “I’m stuck up on the block like Spider-Man/ My bro’s like Iron Man/ Tool in his bag/ Now I got all these bands..”

He further extends the superhero theme, referencing the DC franchise to annihilate his “cap rapper” naysayers: “Young boys world actin’ like Aqua Man/ You should have saw the way they wet the block and then repeat.”

Popcaan enters the chat on the three-minute track with his usual braggadocio: “Aye, Loski/ Wah gwan broski?/ Bwoy get vex tru him baby mother post wi.” Though the visuals cut between Jamaica and London, Popcaan spends his verse flexing his versatility, proving he’s got the chops chops to manoeuver UK’s grime scene. Weaving the titles Shut Up by Stormzy, Location by Dave & Burna Boy and 3 Wheel Ups by previous collaborator Kano into his bars, the Unruly Boss did his homework for a solid delivery.

Loski similarly shouts out Sizzla, Spragga Benz and invokes the 4th Genna, Aidonia, in the lines “Bam, bam, boom, Hot tool in my G-can”. The link up is a potent display of lyrical prowess between worlds, and fans are already showing out for the synthy fusion. One fan’s response read “This song a banger loski but we not gonna skip pass popcaan like he didn’t just kill this verse”, while another quipped “Loski should have gone clear by now! Feds done him dirty 😤”
