Dancehall Artiste Squash Gets Major Cosign From R&B Crooner Omarion
6ix boss Squash’s latest hit POTUS just got major cosign from R&B crooner Omarion. The former B2K frontman and his younger brother ORyan were seen vibing to the catchy track on Instagram stories this week.
Omarion was turning up while driving, and even attempted a few lines of the deejay’s fiery chorus. Squash reposted and tagged the cosign, with a special caption for 6ix critics and trolls: “POTUS and a different standard 👊🏻@omarion 💯#6ixxforever #worldstar #symbolicriddim”

Though 2020 has stumped entertainment sectors overall, many have noted the diminishing buzz around members of the 6ix. The Montego Bay-based syndicate seemed unstoppable after their 2018 breakout success, but some fans now believe they’ve fallen off. Heavy D, the group’s manager addressed those mounting rumours in an interview last month.
“Mi nuh know why people a say dem nah hear from the 6ix because di man dem still a drop a whole portion a song although nothing nah really gwaan in a music right now”, Heavy D told The Star. “2021 nah go normal. Di man dem a go come out a quarantine stronger dan ever. A whole heap a thing a go gwaan when the place open up again. A dem man deh a run YouTube right now so nothing nuh drop, nothing nuh stop. The 6ix is still real.”
Their status on YouTube Jamaica trending videos is unquestionable, and Squash’s POTUS is still going strong on the chart after nearly four weeks. Just shy of the million views mark, the leader’s ode to his flashy lifestyle was no doubt bolstered by Omarion’s endorsement.
He was also recently spotted in studio with fellow Jamaican emcee Sean Kingston cooking up a “bomb” new track. While Squash‘s silent moves and successes might be lost on some, 6ix fans are keenly tuned in to the unfolding drama between himself and manager Heavy D.
Following a set of leaked screenshots and voice notes, the latter has been accused of swindling $350,000 paid over for a Squash recording by a production house. Amid speculation that his relationship with the 6ix has actually soured, Heavy D has sought to clear his name, saying people have the “wrong concept” of the dealings.
“People have the wrong concept of everything and a call me all kinda things because it look like me a collect money fi artiste and dem don’t know. The truth is that the artiste just see a man link him pan him page a ask bout work, and him tell him say him nuh know nothing ’bout that which is weh him a go say because a never him collect no money,” Heavy D told The Star.
