Trending Trio Vybz Kartel, Chronic Law And Squash Drop ‘Money We Love’ Visuals
Dancehall artistes Vybz Kartel, Chronic Law, and Squash jump on the beat once again, delivering another scorcher to close out 2020.
Linking up for the second time this year, the ensuing lyrical showdown on Money We Love is as sonically compelling as it is exciting to watch. They previously collaborated this year on a Jump on the Beat remix which also featured Kartel’s son Likkle Vybz.
Currently trending in three countries including Canada, the US, and topping Jamaica’s YouTube trending list in mere hours, the trio’s new ode to their flashy lifestyle is a certified hit.
Fans have few complaints if any about the fire Shabdon Records track, overflowing with slick bars from start to finish. Kartel effortlessly tackles the agile first verse of Money We Love, aided by animated visuals that feel like a ‘Miami Vice episode.’ Shouting out both his mentor, — “Rohan Butler bring me to Bounty and di rest is history na mean?”— as well as his protégé — “Action (Nadine) Popcaan (Sutherland)” — Kartel is, as usual, versatile and precise.
Other notable lyrics include: “You see all di one Camille/ She spend me money harder/ Me gi her already but she comin back, Ah karma?/ Warner Bros. cause we shoot them like a film, you na no mannaz.”
Surrounded by vixens and yacht views, Chronic Law drops a rapid-fire toast to his rising status in the game. “Like paper plane ah suh me mek di dollas fly and drop/ Mi wallet heavy than mi pliers box/ Ye man mi client hot” he spits, with plenty of bill counters on board to prove it.
Daddy1 from the Montego Bay-based crew also makes a cameo, adding even more star power to the Shane Creative directed clip.
Squash takes over on the chorus, intro and outro, chiming in with the catchy quality he’s brought to countless other trending hits. The 6ix Boss starts off, “Bwoy get three outta di .45/ Guns haffi out from we outside/ Hot up di place when a cold time/ Chain dem ah freeze, we nuh fire/ Yow Shabdon, if ah nuh 6ix den a who? Gaza yuh know we bad fi tru/ Tell some likkle bwoy fi move/ Tell dem seh a money we love, Tell dem seh a money we love.”
Praising everything from the punchlines to the production, the trio’s fanbases left favorable YouTube responses. Watch the new video for Money We Love below.
