Dancehall singjay Jada Kingdom is seemingly peeved with fellow artiste Popcaan over his apparent lack of urgency in working on a remix of her hit single WiN.

During one of Popcaan’s recent, free-wheeling Instagram Live sessions, the Budum artiste expressed her displeasure with the Unruly Boss when she commented on the stream, “afta mi ask yuh fi remix mi song WIN a dis yuh pull? ok”.

There was no response from Popcaan at the time, but the artistes are known to have a very amicable relationship, especially since they both hail from the eastern parish of St Thomas.

WiN, released earlier this year, is a deeply personal song for Jada, with the official music video putting her humble beginnings in Seven Mile, Bull Bay on display to 3.7 million viewers on YouTube.  The 3-minute documentary that accompanied the visuals was narrated by Jada and provided an insightful explanation of what the title of the single meant to her.

“Mi create WiN fi remind myself everyday say mi can do this and no matter how much mi fail … all mi did haffi do is get up and try again, cah mi must win one day,” she explained.

Jada was featured in Popcaan’s recent album, FIXTAPE , on a track called Suh Mi Luv It which has attracted over 1.5 million streams on YouTube.

However, it seems that Popcaan has been tardy in returning the favor and it has left the Banana artiste feeling a little disgruntled to the point where she has had to call out the OVO signee publicly.

Despite the pandemic, Popcaan has been very busy.  He dropped a full-length album in August, followed by major collabs with Maroon 5 on Nobody’s Love, Dave East on Unruly, Protoje on Like Royalty , Loski on Avengers, and with Preme on their six-song Link Up EP, in addition to a recent performance on BBC 1Xtra, all giving rise to his stock as one of the forces to be reckoned with in Dancehall.

Popcaan also plans to drop yet another collaborative project with some members of his Unruly collective this year and has an interest in appearing in more movies, according to a radio interview last month.

The former Instagram model has also been riding the charts and teamed up with her boyfriend Verse Simmonds’ for his track Bedroom Bully, which was recently given a video treatment.

She had success working with Vybz Kartel on his track Cast Iron Heart in January and the Worl’ Boss later returned the favor for a remix of her track Heavy in July.

Kingdom also recruited the talents of rising Dancehall star Skillibeng, another St Thomas native, for her single Tek It in August, while she returned the favor in their remix of Shake .

We have a feeling Popcaan won’t leave Jada feeling disappointed for long.
