Artiste Manager Shelly-Ann Curran Rehashes Lisa Hanna’s Past Comments About Vybz Kartel
Artiste manager, Shelly-Ann Curran, threw her support behind presidential aspirant, Mark Golding, as she chided his rival, Lisa Hanna, for past comments she made about Dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel.
Curran in a Friday night tweet used the hashtag #gowithgolding noting that Hanna was not trustworthy, citing that she had wanted to ban Kartel’s music from radio yet she often quoted the entertainer’s songs.
“Never trust a politician that wants to band kartel songs all while her IG page is fully quoting an entire verse #gowithgolding #substanceovahype,” said Curran, who seems to be endorsing Golding for the top post in the People’s National Party (PNP).
What’s Curran talking about?
Curran seems to be making reference to a 2017 radio interview in which Hanna suggested that Vybz Kartel’s music should be banned from public airways.
Hanna made the comments while discussing how violence in Jamaica is linked with negative lyrics, particularly those promoted by dancehall music.
Following Hanna’s comments, social media users flocked to her page, hurling threats at the former minister.
Curran’s tweet which jogged the memories of some Twitter user sparked a lively discussion online, with many noting that they had forgotten about the incident, adding it was definitely something to think about.
