Serani’s Smash Hit ‘No Games’ Goes Gold In The UK
Serani’s 2008 hit single No Games recently scored a serious milestone with a gold certification in the UK. At the time of its release, the banger not only topped local charts but peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Reggae Chart and No. 55 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip Hop Chart.
No Games was released on the Unfinished Business Riddim created by Serani’s own Daseca crew and Linton “TJ” White.
The catchy, upbeat track was an instant sensation, with a playful video that complemented the “universality of the song” according to Fader. Speaking on the grand achievement, the entertainer and producer whose real name is Crag Serani Marsh, praised fans for their ongoing support.
“I’m simply amazed and honoured that my international hit single “No Games” was recently certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry, for sales of more than 400,000 in the UK only,” he said. “A special thank you to all my fans, support team and everyone who has purchased this single.”
It’s been an awesome year for Serani and his breakout single, which was also sampled by prolific American rapper Eminem back in February. Serani called Eminem “one of the best lyricists music has ever produced” and was honored to have his voice and lyrics featured on the song Farewell from Eminem’s Music to be Murdered By record.
In 2019, the singjay’s dancehall smash hit also appeared in American media maven, model and businesswoman Kylie Jenner’s Instagram stories. Her nearly 140 million followers caught a snippet of the island-tinged track as she was seen living it up for her best friend’s birthday.
